We gather every Sunday at 11:00 and 18:30 to worship God. During these times we:

Sing

Sundays are an opportunity for our church family to sing praises to God together. We sing a mixture of old and modern hymns, and we normally stand to sing.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!

Psalm 100:1-2

Read and Listen

At Emmanuel we are passionate about God’s word, the Bible. We believe this is how God speaks to us today, so in our services we read the Bible together and listen to a detailed sermon on a specific passage.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.

Joshua 1:8

Pray

God listens to the prayers of His people, thus we pray to Him in our services. We praise Him for how great He is, we confess our failings to Him, we thank Him for all that He has done for us, and we ask Him for the specific needs we have as a congregation.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Take communion

During the morning service we take communion together. This is an opportunity for Christians to weekly remember the amazing and sacrificial love of Jesus in the way that he has commanded. If you are not a christian, or you are unfamiliar with communion, then please refrain from taking it and speak to one of the leadership team for more information.

For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

1 Corinthians 11:26

Can my children come?

Your children are more than welcome at our services. We would love them to stay in the services, but we know sometimes this isn’t possible. At our morning service we have children’s church and crèche for preschoolers available if you want to make use of those options. There is also Sunday school available before the morning service. For more information about our children’s activities please click here.

What do I wear?

At Emmanuel we do not have a dress code, you can wear whatever you are comfortable in.
